SONGWRITERS IN THE ROUND:
Saturday, July 19, 6PM
Brian Whelan

BRIAN WHELAN made playing with country, rock, and Americana stars, such as Houston’s own Mike Stinson, Nashville roots godfather Jim Lauderdale, and Los Angeles rocker Chris Shiflett. WHELAN put his unmistakable mark on the national scene as the prolific sideman behind urban cowboy Dwight Yoakam, playing guitar, keys, pedal steel, and anything else that was required or requested. From budding fan to established keystone, WHELAN is now at the center of that Los Angeles Americana scene he discovered years ago.
Brad Colerick

Brad has been writing and performing music since he was a kid. He has had the good fortune of singing on many commercials over his career to become a vested SAG-AFTRA Union member. He is one of the most ubiquitous Los Angeles performers, performing from Pasadena through Northern California. His warm, sunny, homey tenor voice brings alive the songs of his experiences.
In 2009, he started the weekly “Wine and Song” concert series to present the music he loves to his South Pasadena community. Additionally, he had been the Music Director of the annual South Pasadena Eclectic Music Festival.
Jeff Kossack

Jeff had been making music all his life, and always had some sort of recording rig, but always knew his engineering and production savvy would take off once he focused his attention on his songs.
After 2006, Jeff began focusing on production, and has produced and recorded songs for more than 150 artists, with 20 of them being full CD projects. All of this work was done either for free or on sliding scale because everyone knows artists rarely have disposable income. He did so because he knew it would be easier to master the production side of the desk if he wasn’t also the “talent”.
Stephen Michael Schwartz

Stephen Michael Schwartz, a composer/recording artist who performs live music throughout the world to a wide range of audiences both young and old, joins a unique group of musicians who have made a living with their music for over forty years. Stephen’s reputation as a superlative singer-songwriter-performer came into focus as one of the three original members of the award-winning children’s musical group, PARACHUTE EXPRESS. The first group ever to be signed to Walt Disney Records Music Box Series, PARACHUTE EXPRESS released six albums and performed on some of the biggest stages while associated with Disney.

I See Hawks In L.A.
October 11, 6 PM

I See Hawks in L.A. are Southern California’s leading alt country/Americana/folk rock band. Noted for their lyrical celebrations of earth and ecosphere, odes to the endless highway, and wry social commentary, they’ve gathered a loyal and global tribe from many U.S. and Europe/UK tours.
Wry humour, great music, unabashed joy of living, lovely harmony singing, foolishness, environmental concerns and the hazards of love – the upsides and the downsides of caring about someone. That’s what a couple of hours in the company of I See Hawks In LA is about. There is surely no better time to get out and see I See Hawks In LA.
